Omaha Hi-Low Poker

What is Omaha Hi/Low Poker?

Omaha Hi/Low is a variation of Omaha. The difference between Omaha Hi and Omaha Hi/Low is that now you can win the pot by having the low hand. You can only make a low hand if 3 cards on the board are equal to 8 or less. Then the best low hand wins. The best possible low hand would be a straight wheel flush (A2345). In Hi/Low you can win the hi and the low taking the whole pot. Often pots are split between the high hand and the low hands. Pots tend to get even bigger than in Omaha Hi. If the player with the low is half way smart they are going to bet as much and as often as possible, because they are guaranteed at least half the pot.
* Omaha hi/low is often referred and spelled like this: hi/lo

The player taking down the pot in this screenshot on the left is holding the A♥ and the 2♦. They have not made the low hand yet, because a there needs to be 3 cards on the board of 8 or less. If a 6 hit the board then this player would have the nut low. However, the player does have two pair with the 4 and the 5.
